If MySQL Workbench is showing the error "Connection to local server is not established," it suggests that there may be an issue with your MySQL server or your connection configuration. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check MySQL Server Status:
Ensure that your MySQL server is up and running. You can do this by either checking the MySQL service or by running the following command in the command prompt or terminal:
```
mysqladmin -u root -p status
```
This command should prompt you for your MySQL root password. If the server is running, you will see status information. If it's not running, you'll need to start it.
Start MySQL Server:
If your MySQL server is not running, start it. The method to start MySQL can vary depending on your operating system. On most systems, you can start it with a command like:
```
sudo service mysql start   # On Linux (systemd)
```
```
net start MySQL80          # On Windows
```
Check the Connection Configuration:
In MySQL Workbench, review your connection settings to ensure they are correct. Make sure that the hostname, port, username, and password are accurate. If you are connecting to a local MySQL server, the hostname can typically be "localhost" or "127.0.0.1."
Verify MySQL Port:
The default MySQL port is 3306. Ensure that your MySQL server is listening on this port. If you've changed the port in your MySQL server configuration, make sure to specify the correct port in your MySQL Workbench connection settings.
Firewall and Security Software:
Sometimes, security software or firewalls can block MySQL connections. Make sure that your firewall or security software is not blocking the MySQL port (default is 3306).
Check MySQL Service Configuration:
Review the MySQL service configuration to ensure that it's configured to start automatically. On Windows, this can be done via the "Services" application. On Linux, you might need to configure it to start on boot.
Restart MySQL Server:
If the issue persists, try restarting the MySQL server to see if that resolves the problem.
Reinstall MySQL Workbench:
If none of the above solutions work, try uninstalling and reinstalling MySQL Workbench.

If you're still encountering issues after trying these steps, please provide more details about your system (operating system, MySQL version, etc.) so that I can offer more specific guidance. Additionally, check the MySQL error logs for any error messages that might provide clues to the issue.
