What are the steps should follow?

I read the complete steps in project- 4 (Hiring Process) at the end of the steps you mentioned in that note: submit the SQL queries. I want to confirm whether I will clean the data in Microsoft Excel tool and do the same in MySQL workbench and write some queries or else just clean the data in Excel and write my answers in the sheet.
