Project -3 cast and str_to_date function

In case study 1 , I followed all the steps from the guide video. When i used the update function it asked me to disable the safe mode. After disabling it, error says truncated incorrect date value. So I tried using cast and strtodate function to change into date format but the column shows null value. Please suggest a way to clear this. I have attached a picture of the cast and strtodate function I used.
