Movie Genre Analysis- using wild card to calculate median(if)

I am stuck in calculating median. Kindly explain how to use wild card in this to search the gener in cell were it is combined. Kindly give the crisp answer and don't puzzle it. =MEDIAN(IF(SEARCH(G2,A:A),B:B)) The above will not calculate as the search function is giving index number and not the value to find Median. Kindly help....
