Laptop freezes/lags on installing MySQL

Hi, I was just about to start working on MySQL, but my laptop keeps freezing/lagging ever since installing the software. I have followed the videos posted for installation and checked if my laptop matches the hardware requirements for the software as well. I cannot think of any reason why it shouldn't work, but my laptop freezes and lags right from the time I turn it on and at every click. Please advise what can be done to fix this.
