Calender() and Calenderauto()

This question is for Siddharth wrt Power Bi; In the live sessions, you demonstrated creating a calendar table using two different functions—CALENDAR() and CALENDARAUTO(). This was done because the time column in the dataset was causing issues. My question is: Why did you create a calendar table in the first place, given that the 'sales transaction date' column is already present in the dataset? Wouldn't it be possible to directly use this column to extract attributes like month, year, and date, and perform time intelligence functions, along with the necessary iterations on the dataset, instead of creating a separate calendar table and establishing a relationship?
