Depending on what kind of job you are applying for, you may get different kind of interview questions.

I will primarily focus on Interview Questions for Data Analysts.

The very first question that you can expect is what is your experience with Microsoft Excel? How long have you been working with it?

They might ask you how have you been using Microsoft Excel to handle data. Now this is a very good question. You can answer that I use pivot tables. I use different data cleaning techniques. I know how to use sorting. I know how to use filters. I know how to use conditional formatting to present the data. I also know how to use different excel functions and specifically the new Office 365 functions like XLOOKUP, TEXTSPLIT etc. I also know Functions like INDEX/MATCH and SUMPRODUCT etc. I also know how to create interactive charts using Pivot, Slicers and Timelines.

The more you share what you know will only help you get that job. But remember one important thing… When you are saying all this stuff, just do not use these words for the heck of it. Prepare for all of these before you go for the interview questions because there is a high chance that you may be asked to give a test. The courses that I am covering with take you in depth so that you know all of this stuff like the back of your hand.

There is one more thing which is very important for data analytics and that is programming in VBA. Very often they are referred to as macros. I will not be covering that here. For that feel free to visit my YouTube channel

I take lot of efforts in creating the video covering as much detail as possible. I have created a playlist. You can learn at your own pace. Feel free to watch it and subscribe to the channel in case you would like to learn Visual Basic Applications - Excel programming from SCRATCH and FOR FREE!
