query on weekly retention

i am finding it difficult to find the weekly retention rate based on sign up cohort, somehow i came up with this query select year(occurredat) as year, week(occurredat) as week, device, count(distinct userid) as weeklyusers from events where event_type = 'engagement' group by year,week,device; want to know if it actually gives the desired output
